 Apprenticeship Training

As a Childcare Apprentice you will be learn to:

·    support children to learn and develop in all areas across the EYFS Framework

·    Safeguard yourself and the children in the nursery

·    Become a valued part of the nursery team.

·    Learn how to provide support to children through a variety of activities, according to their interests and needs

·    Build robust relationships with key children and their families.

·    Gain on the job experience and be able to utilize the skills you have gained over the duration of your apprenticeship.

·    Help the existing staff, to deliver the curriculum to the children.

Business hours are Monday to Friday, 7.30am-6.30pm. Rotation of two days off a week. Working hours 8am-6pm. Plus supported study time of 6 hours per week.

Total hours per week: 36.00

Apprenticeship duration: up to 12 months 1 day for NVQ level 2, or 18 months if enrolled on the NVQ 3 course.

Training provider

You will be enrolled onto the Children and Young Peoples Workforce Apprenticeship Programme. You will work towards gaining this qualification as a Certificate at NVQ level 2 or a Diploma at NVQ level 3. Level of training will be assessed by the training provider alongside the interview.

These qualifications are globally recognised industry certifications and form the significant building block of Childcare knowledge for anybody looking to start a career in Childcare.

 Already qualified?

We are offering a full time, permanent position, worked over four days per week, giving you one day per week to do your own thing, meet friends, go shopping etc. We offer 28 days annual leave (pro rata) per year, opportunities to train further if wanted, and a strong staff support system

Skills and personality attributes the nursery is looking for:

·   a qualification equivalent to NVQ 2 or NVQ 3 in Childcare or related subject

·  a bright, enthusiastic and hard-working individual a genuine desire to enhance experiences for children

·   a friendly personality and be able to work as part of a team

·   a positive, highly self-motivating, can-do attitude

·   someone who isn’t afraid to ask questions

·   you will have sound communication skills in English

·    be willing to work hard

·   You will be able to demonstrate some practical interest in supporting children
